Breast Reduction and Lift
Breast reduction is also known as reduction mammaplasty. This is a procedure intended to reduce the size of a woman's breasts and improve their shape and position. Frequently, the areola (dark skin around the nipple) is also made smaller. Functional symptoms (medical disorders) caused by excessive breast weight may be relieved or improved by this operation. A breast lift, or mastopexy, is designed to improve the shape and position of the breasts without reducing their size. It is used for breasts which sag but are not large.
Breast Lift and Augmentation
A breast lift with an implant ("Augmentation Mastopexy") is performed similarly to a breast lift. In some cases, a breast lift alone may not give the desired result of perfection. The patient may want additional volume to the breast which requires the use of an implant. A breast lift with an implant is called an "Augmentation Mastopexy."
Breast Lift
Loss of skin elasticity, gravity and other factors such as weight loss, pregnancy and breast feeding ultimately affect the shape and firmness of your breast. Pregnancy and breast feeding may have significant and unpredictable effects on the size and shape of your breast.
Breast Augmentation
Many women choose to have their breast enlarged in order to satisfy their own desire for a fuller bust line. Your breast may not have developed to a size that meets your expectations, or one breast maybe significantly smaller than the other. You may have been happy with your breast in the past but feel that they look different now. Often, after weight loss, childbirth or as a result of aging, the breasts lose volume and their shape changes. Breast augmentation can enhance your breast size and shape, and give you the more proportional figure that you always wanted.
